In April Allegiant announced it will begin nonstop service from Kansas City to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina beginning June 8, 2018, and did so with a fare sale on Allegiant.com. That announcement becomes reality on Friday, June 8 as travelers will board the first flight to the popular beach destination.
“We’re thrilled to launch new nonstop service from Kansas City to Myrtle Beach,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant vice president of revenue and planning. “These new ultra-low-cost flights to the Grand Strand are the perfect choice for anyone looking for a beautiful beach vacation or golf getaway this summer.” The new seasonal route will operate twice weekly between Kansas City International Airport (MCI) and Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR). With the addition of this route, Allegiant will offer service to six destinations from Kansas City, including Phoenix/Mesa, Arizona and four destinations in Florida: Destin/Fort Walton, Fort Myers/Punta Gorda, Orlando/Sanford and Tampa/St. Pete.
“Allegiant’s launch of nonstop service to Myrtle Beach is just in time for summer vacation season," said Pat Klein, director of aviation for the Kansas City Aviation Department. “We appreciate Allegiant's ongoing commitment to the Kansas City region and hope travelers continue to take advantage of their competitive fares to Myrtle Beach and other nonstop, warm-weather destinations." Allegiant offers a unique option to Kansas City-area travelers with low base fares and savings on rental cars and hotels. Travelers can book their entire vacation with Allegiant for less. Beginning with one aircraft and one route in 1999, the company has grown to over 80 aircraft and more than 300 routes across the country.
