Vacation Express will launch new nonstop charter flights between Kansas City International Airport and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. The new route will become Kansas City’s third international route and is the first ever nonstop service between Kansas City and Punta Cana.
The new flights will be available between February 18 and August 3, with flights departing Kansas City on Friday and returning on Thursday as part of six-night packages offered by Vacation Express. For travelers who already have a place to stay, air-only is available.
“The demand for air travel between Kansas City and the Caribbean reached an all-time high earlier this year when Punta Cana became the most popular Caribbean destination for Kansas City vacationers,” said Kansas City Director of Aviation Pat Klein. “We appreciate Vacation Express for their willingness to add Kansas City to their expanding network.”
Vacation Express Vice President of Sales and Marketing Kevin Hernandez commented, “With the popularity of non-stop flights to Cancun, Mexico from Kansas City, we knew that travelers were seeking something new. Punta Cana is a perfect fit for sun seekers looking to claim their slice of paradise in the Caribbean.”
The weekly charter flight to Punta Cana will be operated by Miami Air International, featuring large Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 180 seats.
Flights and vacation packages are offered through vacationexpress.com or by calling 800.309.4717. Travelers may also book their travel through their local travel agent.
